I don’t know why people freak out over this being called BL. BL is an umbrella category no matter how morally gross the story is if it involves 2 men having sexual relations, it’s going to be put in the BL category. I don’t know why people think a story has to be lovey-dovey to be considered BL, if it involves a male on male same sex Relationship it’s going to be called BL because that’s basically, the term for any media that involves gay men or actions that usually take place between gay men. Of course they’re Relationship is way more complex than that but at the end of the day, it would be very misleading to not put that tag on there because what if a person doesn’t want to read something that involves 2 characters of the same sex? The tag isn’t put there to define the whole story itself. It’s put as basically a warning to what you’re gonna find when you read the story.
