To start of, this is a review/opinion, not a hate comment and I am not hate reading this, I've dropped it the day I discovered the novel. The whole premise is supposed to be about a victim getting revenge, which I would've loved, but instead we got misery porn fueled by edgy shock value. Throwing in r*pe, gangr*pe, and animal abuse (SA) which I heard was literally changed later on due to reader backlash, is the exact definition of cheap shock tactics. If a plot point can be deleted because of backlash without ruining the story, it wasn't necessary for the narrative in the first place. A genuine psychological thriller requires actual plot development, not just endless trauma-dumping. Honestly, the novel made me question the thought process behind the writing. Especially the whole animal abuse thing. Because it has now been changed, i first thought it was animal abuse as in, he has a phobia of dogs and he probably hit the dog or something, but no, it was sa. It's barely a 2/10 for me, proceed with caution if you want a coherent storyline. As people on internet say "fbi should check this person's hard drive"
