ML and 2nd ML are both so selfish :( I feel really sorry for MC. Like I get that he's off himself but he is really just looking for connection Like he definitely shouldn't be looking for someone to take out his anger and anxiety on but I wonder what it would have been like if he met someone who was kind to him, who was genuine and safe- would therapy be something he would then do? Would it help him learn he is deserving of love? IDK, that might not be so healthy either but this is so much worse
His first love comes around and tells him he's been looking for someone like him in other people bc no one has ever loved him so much as too take the fall, lie, & protect him like MC did back in HighSchool. Like that sounds like such an unequal relationship and like he wants someone who he can hurt & they'll just take it.
Now ML is the same. He has been "spying" on MC then uses what he knows to create this like false emotional connection, false safety, all with the intention of pushing MC to the edge or make him kill him. He wants MC to kill him but then live a lonely life after, on top of not really caring about MC or his story. Like, it's all about him.
MC just wants connection, someone to understand him and who he feels safe with :( :( :(
