People in these comments are fighting over who is “more mature” as if disliking cuckold/NTR automatically means you're some immature teenager. Since when did your preference for a fictional trope determine your maturity?
And the funniest part is everyone saying, “If you don't like it, just drop it.” Okay… then why are YOU going into people's comments getting outraged because they don't like it? If you're really that mature and unbothered, why are you defending this manhwa like your life depends on it? People are allowed to dislike something without having to justify it to you.
And let's talk about the whole “kings had concubines” argument. Fine. Historically, kings having multiple women existed. But why does that suddenly become a valid excuse when it's a male character, while the second a female character has a reverse harem, people start calling her a slut, whore, or “for the streets”? If a female king had multiple male concubines, you'd see the exact same people screaming about how disgusting and immoral she is.
And let's not pretend this is some harmless implication either. This is a story written by a woman, and if the plot literally shows the ML sleeping with another woman while the FL is right there, for 3 chapters, then YES, people are going to be uncomfortable with it. That's completely different from merely implying that a historical king had concubines somewhere off-screen.
Most people aren't upset because they can't “understand mature writing.” They're upset because they simply don't enjoy watching a character they care about being put through that kind of situation. That's a completely valid preference.
If you like the trope, GOOD FOR YOU. Enjoy it. Nobody is stopping you. But don't act like everyone who dislikes it is immature, insecure, or a teenager. And don't tell people to “just drop it” while simultaneously going into their comments to argue with them for not liking the exact thing you like.
You like cuck/NTR? Go for it. Seriously. But some of us don't, and apparently that's allowed too.
And mind you, this isn't even some brilliantly written, intellectually complex story that everyone is apparently “too immature” to understand. The plot is literally dumb. Most of the characters are dumb, their decisions are dumb, and even the implications people are trying so hard to defend are dumb.
I genuinely don't know what kind of “maturity” we're supposed to be applauding here. Understanding a dumb plot doesn't suddenly make you mature.
And honestly, a lot of people are only tolerating this because the art is good. Be serious. There are countless manhwas with the exact same recycled plot, but with mediocre art, and people drop them in the first few chapters because there's nothing keeping them there. Here, the art style is basically carrying the story on its back, and suddenly everyone is acting like it's some profound piece of literature.
It's giving Jinx at this point. People will tolerate an entire dumpster fire of a plot because the characters are attractive and the art is pretty, and then anyone who criticizes it gets hit with “you just don't understand mature storytelling.”
Like, babe, there is nothing particularly mature about watching a dumb character make dumb decisions in a dumb plot and then attacking everyone who doesn't enjoy it.
If you like it, LIKE IT. Nobody cares. But don't confuse enjoying something with it being objectively well-written, and don't confuse disliking it with being immature. Sometimes people simply recognize a shitty plot and move on.
