Well this is what I think
All the struggles started to look so fake at the end （￣へ￣）
Mathias finally got the real opportunity to blackmail Layla to sleep with him. He'll become more shameless and audacious in the upcoming chapters. Layla was forced to become his mistress to save her uncle. Even though they start having this affair Mathias will still move forward to plan for his wedding with his fiancee. His fiancee found out Mathias was sleeping with Layla and told Uncle Bill. The uncle realized everything so he ran away with Layla and hide in her birth place(I forgot the country name). There they realize Layla was pregnant with Mathias' baby but Layla decided to keep the baby. On the other side reality finally hits Mathias's fking face. He doesn't want to play married life anymore, what's the point if there'll be no mistress. He joined the war that's ongoing in Layla's country. He promised himself he'll kill Layla but when he found her he realized she's pregnant and instantly become over protective. But He gave up on her and arranged a safe place for them. But Layla told him they'll be waiting for him. Mathias went back to war and mf is finally dead. He's Fiancee broke the engagement with his dead ass. And then he's fking back to life again. Returned to the dukedom and dropped the bomb that he's alive and will be marrying Layla and they also have a son who looks like him (thank god at least he took after his mother's personality). Of course his family was against it but Mathias threw tantrums and won in the end. Layla become the Duchess, later his family accepted her and they also have a daughter after.
