Damn... the people in the comments talk about how boring it is and how certain things shouldn't have happened, but it's because of those events that the story was interesting. This was never a romance story. It was meant to be unfair and sad with revenge being the end goal. The doctor was going to die regardless of the main character getting involved or not, the only difference is that he was able to get the revenge he would have wanted if he didn't know who the killer was. It's just sad that the doctor never knew how much the main character actually loved him.
