I really do love stories like this that have a great representation of toxic love. As someone who's been in some a terrible relationship, where he'd degrade me and my living situation, my insecurities, say that he broke me so much to the point no one would ever see the best parts of me, this really is a great representation of that and I love it when authors can grasp and really make a good plot without romantizing it or sugar-coating. This is what people go through, or have gone through before and it comforts me reading this because the author really understands and it makes me feel seen, as I'm assuming it would for a few others. People always say that want a relationship like this until they actually get one (this has nothing to do with the plot, but it is targeted towards ppl on tik tok), I understand wanting someone to love you deeply, but stuff like this isn't love, it's control and wanting someone to hold onto to abuse or take their horrible behavior out on you. Love like this isn't healthy :( coming from someone who's dealt with it.
