Being a mix of action and romance, this story has the perfect pacing to binge read and despite the spy work being a bit boring (tbh i didn't care about all the mccain's -or what was his name- plan to become a tyrant president in the us) the plot itself is still good
Characters are also well written which is great, but still I didn't like some dynamics between mc and ml, especially the weirdass situation with yunjae : in the notes author specified he is 100% straight and he was just scared to lose ml as a friend but he annoyed me so much in some parts, weirdest part was him never explaining ml how he got his scar, letting him misunderstand all the time he was the little kid from his past. He felt like a damsel in distress, always ending up running to ml whenever he was in trouble and expecting him to solve it all for him... and yes, friends do help each others but that felt more like a weird codependency (but maybe it’s just me) And all of this 'situationship' really weighed on mc, making him doubt ml's sincerity till almost the end ALSO YES, MC LIED but tbh that was much less annoying bc it's what his job entails. It was more his fear of communicating his true feelings that bugged me a bit but that was also justified bc he believed ml had feelings for yunjae (which was true, even if ml believed yunjae was the kid from his past he should have either stopped seeing mc or acting like a lovesick fool everytime he was with the guy)
What I ĺiked the most was actually the second ml (as always rip), he is such a charming character I think i screenshotted a lot of his panels bc he's just that hot, idk how mc resisted bc I would have folded since day1 lmaooo Plus he was the only one who felt like a proper secret agent lol mc might be great at combat but he was so naive and overly honest through all his missions lol he isn't 2 faced enough for a spy if you get what I mean I'm actually excited af for the sequel with him as the mc! Ik story isn't going to be as green flag as this one so I'm still debating if I should start reading immediately or letting it marinate... Anyways, this was a great read and would prob reread again!
