I really want to know what Jinhyeok (seme) has been thinking from the start.
From my understanding, seme genuinely wants to help Asel (uke) to improve his quality of life in terms of giving him a job with generous salary and providing him a tutor, so Asel can get a high school degree (and maybe he will pursue a higher degree and attend a university in the future.)
If I were Jinhyeok, I would think that Asel is just a kiddo who worked at the club and got sexual harassed (verbally and I saw it with my own eyes), then he got fired later because of seme (ppl think uke slept with seme.) And seme met uke again at the wedding hall which uke was a part-timer there. Asel is just a pitiful poor kid, who has no degree, no money, and being a male omega on top of that. I feel like it’s Jinhyeok’s way to take a responsibility to give uke a job (and decide to be the one paying uke himself without telling the truth.) He could give some money and end things there, but it’s because he once offered money as a tip when Asel left the room after he was harassed. Uke refused it to show that seme can’t brush it off by using money. So, giving uke some money is out of question. That’s why he went to such length to offer uke a job as a housekeeper.
While as we read from Asel’s POV, Jinhyeok is an adult who is 11 years older than uke. Seme appears as mature, calm, and treat uke politely with kindness. I mean this should be a normal behavior among human beings, but from Asel’s eyes, he has been abandoned and treated very harshly since he can remember starting from his childhood. He even accepts that being groped his ass and a little sexual harassed is normal as an omega, because he gets some money in return. He thinks and repeats many times that ppl treat a male omega as a sexual object. ╥﹏╥
Then what is gonna happen when Jinhyeok has treated Asel politely with kindness. Even if Jinhyeok is like a sponsor or a provider to give uke a job and opportunity to get degree, he doesn’t try to act like uke has to pay his kindness back and that is very special for ppl like uke. Asel is just literally a kid and he fell for seme deeply, this happens the same way in another manhwa: Gig of the day.
Maybe seme is unintentionally interested in uke too, but I don’t see him treat uke romantically or sexually (when he’s sober, not in his rut or drunk from alcohol.) I feel like Jinhyeok is genuinely a good person, and he is 10 out of 10. It’s not that surprised when another male omega has a crush on him.
I can give an example of other couples who have some age-gap and their power-dynamic is just fine. No Moral is a good example of age-gap couple that they can be their true self and feel at ease together (seme there is basically uke’s direct boss.)
Because the setting is omegaverse and this kind of plot leads to marriage before a real romantic relationship even starts. If the setting isn’t omegaverse and uke isn’t an omega, Jinhyeok would be Asel’s unrequited love for life (I don’t think seme would make a move on uke either, he is in deny.)
Well, I saw many ppl in the comment feel annoyed because of uke’s delusional and he is so down bad just thinking of seme. If the one who helps uke isn’t seme, uke doesn’t catch feelings either (like that seme’s friend.) Asel is attracted to Jinhyeok because seme is an attractive generous alpha who is out of his league, basically. The thing that out of reach looks appealing whether it’s things or people. ╮( ̄▽ ̄)╭
