Surprised me !!

I wasn't sure I'd like this, but I guess I shouldn't be surprised since this author made another work I really love. Their works have been kind of hit-or-miss for me though, so yk...

I teared up when the sister saved her brother <33 it seems like something that should feel contrived, but I think because she's been important since we learned about her, it doesn't feel that way.

One big elephant in the room... Sunjae (or wtv his name was). MC was straight up raped and it hasn't been mentioned at all. I guess it makes sense that it doesn't fit in the story, considering it appears like it wasn't an event in the original novel. The story could have progressed exactly the same if Sunjae had just grabbed MC and reverse guided without sexual contact. Same thing with when they first met- Sunjae assaulting MC was not necessary because it didn't meaningfully move the story forward, characterize anybody, or give MC a roadblock in dealing with Sunjae/ guiding/ sex. The story would have progressed exactly the same if Sunjae had just grabbed MC's arm or made him uncomfortable in a general sense.

I would absolutely love to recommend this story, but now I have to do the same thing I do with I Have to be a Big Baddie and preface it with a warning every time I think someone might like it, which will discourage me from reccing it or anyone reading it. Hell, I almost didn't read this due to the comments! I'm glad I did anyway, because it's genuinely so good, but I wish we didn't have this useless event hanging over the story like a dead goose.

That said, WOW. I don't usefully feel this kind of suspense while reading. I always know that ultimately, the MC and ML are going to be okay. But with the prophecy hanging over their head, I kept telling myself that the blank must simply be the esper's powers being unable to track MC into the past (since I already figured by then that MC must be Woojoo.) But then MC went to the past sooner then I expected, so I was thinking there was no way. Her powers HAD tracked him into the past, which meant he really could die. I kept telling myself that there was no way, but then it really really felt like it might happen. Fucking hell the suspense was killing me.

Also, there were even times I doubted MC was Woojoo before I was certain. At first, I was like "well, Woojoo was older than ML so how can that be?" but once I saw rifts, I was like ok. That must be how MC was older- he fell into a rift. But there were things that kept me a tiny bit doubtful. I kept wondering if Woojoo was a family member of MCs, but thinking that didn't make any sense. I knew from a reader's perspective that there was realistically no way Woojoo was anyone else, but the way they told the story still made me wonder a bit.

I would have been happy with the story ending at chapter 45 though, not that I'd ever complain about MORE. Just feels a tiny bit like it's dragging on or like these should be sides.

All in all, if the manhwa was this good (and it falls short in more than a few aspects), I can't imagine how amazing the novel is !!
