MC's the only one that transmigrated. Everyone else is supposed to be applying to work for Daydream Inc, the pharma company. From the outside daydream really is only a pharma, even some other daydream employee only knows it being a regular company. But the people working with the darkness are those that are desperate enough to get the wish ticket.
I dont actually know how they filter the regular ppl and those that are desperate, but they manage to separate them. And honestly if the recruit decide to leave its just them being dead.
This is only from what i remember, i might be wrong
I see!! If you wouldn’t mind explaining:
-does daydream inc. essentially monopolize urban legends if the ordinary person in-universe doesn’t actually take horror stories or paranormal activity seriously? but if dark phenomena are commonplace, how would they not notice anything?
-what are the other two factions from <darkness exploration records>—like the supernatural bureau?—or is that a later plot point?
-by “successful past attempts,” is MC referring to different escape attempts (i.e. cases) written by the original author, or to choose-your-own-adventure-style outcomes from other readers? If it’s the latter, are the uploaded ghost stories interactive?
-are “well-known”/named employees key shared personages in the wiki?
-also, the word “destination” doesn’t inherently imply a place one hasn’t reached yet (e.g. my destination might be going home from work), so how did mc deduce that?
-as to all of the recruits being desperate enough to risk their life for a wish ticket, even in squid game (to give an example lol), there were people who wanted out as soon as they understood it was a death game (regardless of the cash prize), so how did none of the recruits decide to leave? or were they magically handpicked 145:1 because of their insane mental fortitude?
sorry, maybe I’m overthinking this,,, I’m just really curious about the setting!!
-The first two points/question you ask for is a major spoiler, that will be explained as the plot goes. I had the same question lmao when i was starting out, so i wont be explaining that.
-As for successful attempts, the successful attempts is typically written by others. Like you said, other people made their own stories as to how for example a fictional person A goes inside a ghost story and wether they are successful in getting out or not. The others essentially had to find a loophole based on the author's ghost story or a way to clear them. These written attempt had a strict rules, so that it does not break the 4th wall, stayed within the logical reasoning, does not violate the ghost story rule, and just doesn't make sense for the author's ghost story. I highly recommend visiting the scp website. Because the site Soleum is following is basically like that.
-yes, they are a character famous enough to have several attempts stories written about them
-as for the 'destination' point. Even the example you provided, doesn't it imply that you are not even home yet? If you're already in your house, you wouldn't said "my destination is home". I might also want to add, my own take is that soleum wasn't even sure it was 100% correct. But again, soleum has read these attempts stories, has been a follower of this ghost story website for a long time, and was a big enough fan to purchase a bag full of merch. I think it adds up to how he could reach such conclusion or even other solutions
-There were definitely people that tried to leave, but the recruit inside doesn't even know if they made it out alive. Would such a huge company lets people that knows how that company work really let go of people that easily? Idk how far along are you beyond 6 chapter. But there is a ghost story that acts like some sort of "device" for the company. These are ghost story that are useful and aren't harmful enough that is being used by the company for various things. And daydream has a tons other resources. So one way or another these people would get "taken care of" by daydream. You should also note that we are seeing this from soleum POV, so what soleum doesn't know, we also dont.
Also its not a problem at all! I had more or less the same confusion as you when i was starting out, and analyze the story obssesively. But my suggestion would be to read the novel or just wait for the new manhwa chapter. Because the things i thought were plot hole or were not explained enough is definitely put there on purpose.
I might also make a mistake in the way i answer, so if later you found out any points I've made is incorrect i would like to apologize for that. + Sorry if its too long, im just really passionate about this story
Dont overthink the story that much, just think of the time you read a webnovel about ghost (if you never read any wiki page or creepypasta page), where readers can writer their part aswell to make the book into a series. You went to the fan event, bought things while hidig the fact that you are an adult now and childish things looks out of place the suddenly got dropped in a story you ñove.

thought I had decent media literacy, but this manhwa is making me reconsider after the first six chapters… would any novel reader mind explaining the premise to me without any spoilers pls (;—;) if the new recruits decide to leave, would they be stuck in an alternate dimension where darknesses are common? is everyone originally from mc’s earth, or is he the only one who transmigrated? it seems like everyone knows what’s going on lol
