it's low-key kinda frustrating in these stories it's always the woman, the female leads, that have to suffer twice or more and change for the male leads to be better ppl. Why does their growth always come at the expense of the female lead. This is the case even when the ml actually has always loved the fl and has some reason,the FL always has to go through some crazy trauma or tragedy before they get a sense but if the fl had pulled that they literally DIE. It's just so annoying id go as far as to say kinda sexist as well.
