I think I've realised what I like so much about Ideum in comparison to other MCs who look physically similar. Although he has insecurities, he still has agency. He's made a name for himself in his work, he researches his novels (albeit unconventionally), he seeks to improve them, and while he might not be confident in himself in a lot of ways, he doesn't exactly seek Jaeyi's approval for his worth. He doesn't feel like a needy MC even though he might be insecure, and that paired with Jaeyi's lack of asshole behaviour makes me feel like there's a very equal power balance between them, which I like. Despite their physical differences, and perhaps Jaeyi being a lot more confident in himself with looks and what have you, Ideum doesn't feel emotionally dependent on him - they actually seem to be filling a hole in each other and supplementing each other well, as Jaeyi himself seemed like he felt somewhat empty too. Can't wait to see more!
