i love size difference BL as much as the next guy, but this habit drives me up the fucking wall. the seme will be huge compared to the uke, which is all well and good, but then the uke will also be… huge compared to a woman??? it’s like, a bit ridiculous tbh. women aren’t all tiny dainty little creatures. it just rubs me the wrong way, feels very misogynistic. especially because i don’t think it’s realistic.
let’s take manhwa for example: if we are to take the average height of a seme to be like 6’2 and the average height difference with an uke to be like 7 inches, that puts the uke at around 5’7 (never mind that the average height of men in korea is 5’9). the AVERAGE height of women in korea is 5’4. and if the height difference between the uke and seme is greater, that would put him even lower. even a smaller uke should really not be towering over women like that.
it just feels like “he’s smaller, submissive and/or fem bottom but he’s STILL a man, he’s not as tiny and dainty and delicate as a REAL woman” who, mind you, we are supposed to believe all the other straight men the seme’s size are going for.
just my own personal pet peeve, i think you can just let an uke have a similar size and stature to the women around him. it’s okay. we know he’s a man we’ve seen his dick
