He didn’t fall in love with the previous one, he got obsessed with the fact he wasn’t chosen. He is a psychopath, he cannot understand love. If he actually love the ancestor, he would have never do this to his family. It was just his selfish desire to be chosen. He wanted the MC to choose him.

im obsessed knowing that rose (rogers) put this curse in the first place was because he fell inlove with the first head's brother, edgar. like its definently not uncommon for a tragic romance to be the origin of every curse or legend but for it to happen between two male (well Technically, since rose IS male presenting) characters blew me away. like the story is already amazing itself but that factor really blew me away, its truly unprecedented. i guess ive been reading so much slop manwhas that seeing a mlm (or nblm) be an integral part of the lore (and as smth not as a joke) seriously impressed me.
the story is coming to its end and its safe to say this is genuinely the best historical manwha ive read. from chapters 1 to now i was locked in reading. the plot didnt drag or add unnecessary plotpoints, it had a STORY to tell and they did so amazingly. i cant wait to see how it ends
