At first I said the "first nightmare" might be a simulation. Now it's looking more like the entirety of the story was a child's very long dream? I mean it's "possible." There have been real life cases of people dreaming weeks or even months, only to wake up and only a single night had passed. But if this is really the case that would be a bit disappointing...
I guess there were some "hints" along the way. How when the dream demon went into his mind earlier in the story, the Jaewan she met in there was in the form of a child whom had been living in a "terrible" world in one of the memory fragments. How the "thing" to defeat at the very top of the world tree was "big brother". (the guy in the latest chapter could be his actual big brother) How the world tree kinda resembled neurons in a brain. How "the first nightmare" could be interpreted as the nightmare of his actual real life, where his big brother is a terrible person and abusive to his mom, trying to take him away from her. Probably other hints as well.
But it would still be a bit of a disappointing ending. "It was all a dream" feels like such a cop-out. ^^;;
