To be honest, I saw the panel of her sleeping all the time on Pinterest and thought "Must be a funny one." And decided to read this.
The title should have been a obvious indicator that this would be quite heavy. Ignoring all that, I started this blind and as I read, my mind began to tick-tick-tick until it blew. So many characters that would have been wasted to a stereotypical role were all used beautifully. The comedy accompanis the heaviness of the politics, emotions, the trauma and horror so well, it always manages catches me off guard. One moment I'm laughing at Lucy and Kill arguments then I'm witnessing a PTSD flashback.
Most characters also have layers upon layers to them, then they're described by a single sentence and you just think it's perfectly fits them and genuinely makes sense. Duke Kill or Dill could have just been a smart villain who acts as a stepping stone to a typical heroine's story but he isn't. That means a lot to me.
