I’ve never read a bond as intense as the one in Unchanged Man. Jakpil did an incredible job writing two characters who are completely 'sick in the head' from trauma, yet so entirely devoted to one another. They are like two wounded animals who would completely destroy themselves just to protect the other. It’s definitely not a healthy romance, but the sheer weight of their mutual sacrifice and loyalty makes it feel strangely beautiful and unforgettable.
