Wait not even gonna lie as a kid I did do this but in reverse - there was a boy in my camp that I thought was a girl so I was besties with him (cause I’m a girl) until I discovered he was a guy. then I got super awkward and I still feel a little bad I switched up on him but lowkey he prolly didn’t give a shit
