Yes and No

While I understand fully what the idea was, the really sudden (almost random) advance from sensei ruined the potentially great story.
Everything after was decently done, but it would only feel natural and RIGHT if the MC had slightly overcome his trauma when sensei jumped him, had struggled in the moment to overcome it or just not have been forced so far at all before being told to leave.
As it was written, it felt unnatural, way too random and the author acted as if the trauma wasn't a big deal for the boy, hence overcoming it so easily. Which is contradicted by the clear, constant emphasis on him being fearful, terrified at the slightest thing even.

The idea was good, but the story ruined by a common writing mistake.

If you have no idea how trauma like this works or you just don't care, you can likely enjoy this despite the issues it has. If you don't fall into either category, maybe look for something else.
