U know what I re read it a bit and like, Aeroc (past) finally found peace with his family with a kloff that loves him while kloff is stuck with a version of Aeroc that he settled bc (according to what I read in novel spoilers) he realized the one he truly loved was the past Aeroc, so lowkey? This is his punishment, spending another lifetime looking at a version of the one you love but that’s not the version you actually loved, which in a way? It’s the best punishment for a scum like him as he will be reminded of the person he loved but treated like shit on another version of that person knowing he will never meet past Aeroc again, sigh this is my interpretation but I’m satisfied with this, I’m just happy that the past Aeroc finally found closure bc he suffered the most, this current Aeroc has no idea but hopefully Kloff learns from his mistakes, does not turn him into an omega and just make amends by loving him as two alphas
