To be fair before Lyrica showed up, in everyones eyes for years was that the Barrat family was trying to kill off the royal family to take over. FOR GENERATIONS, not years, GENERATIONS.
You cant blame the ladies in waiting, gaurds nor the royal family themselves for disliking Fjord who actually has people supporting him to be the next emperor and has the royal families powers, to be wary of him.
Lyrica is different though, she knew nothing of his families history nor what they did, she simply wasn't aware of it and because of this she treats Fjord as a normal person. And had the pleasure of being lucky and meeting someone who hates the Barats.
Fjord met her with ill intentions as well, he didn't meet her and simply was kind, he pretened being kind to see the type of person she was because he wanted to "use" her as someone who could bring down his "family" down.
The only person I can outright treated her wrong was Atil, because he didnt trust her. Which considering his position UNDERSTANDABLE (he was poisoned, attempted to be murdered countless times BECAUSE OF THE BARATS)
Now we know Fjord hates the Barats but he hasnt explicitly told anyone. Lyricas close aids know he is abused. But even if your abused you could always run back to your family. Her aids and family are simply trying to keep her from thowing herself to save one person that they have only tolerated because Lyrica is his friend.
Her mother and the emperor simply dont care for Fjord. Atil thinks he is after his throne, or atleast the Barats are. Lyricas aids are actively simply trying to prioritize her safety over her wants.
Fjord sister legit tried to killed Fjord. She killed all her siblings. And she is a child produced from abuse and is only seeking love but that is still crazy actions, she is actively trying to kill Lyrica until her aids stop her. How can you say you love her. How can you sympathys with someone who is trying to kill Lyrica yet you are upset at the rest for simply trying to keep her safe even if they have to not let her do whatever she wants. And I know she doesnt want anything bad, but can be extremly dangerous.
Lyrica is smart, strong, and powerful. She isnt your average kid. But she is a child, and those people you complain about are adults who are responsible for THEIR childrens safety. Even if their actions seem mean towards her, none where done with ill intentions (except Atil standing her up at the tea party)
- You are exactly proving my point. Its the Barrat issue, not Fjord specifically. If they have 'generational issue' they shouldve use their brain to stop it before they groom children to be next enemies. Barrat kids are being groomed, horribly abused so of course i will sympathize with those kids. I will rather sympathize with abuse victims who are trapped in horrible situation than some rich noble family who can at least have happy, warm days. They couldve used better methods to handle barrat situation. Especially Fjord would be perfect option for them to handle barrat situation. They are ok with their daughter hanging around with barrat kid. Like, perfect opportunity to 'get close to enemy' or at least understand wth is going with them. What annoying is the way they treat his life as worthless when that child did nothing to them. Lily said hundred times how much she liked Fjord, and they still are like 'aw our babygirl, he isnt worth it'. Btches dont understand no they dont accept her feelings. She isnt dumb. She knows enemy situation. But for her, he is worthy. And they dont respect her feelings. Something that Fjord would accept that others dont. Because they underestimate how much strong she is.
And Fjord isnt just 'pretending'. Being nice is common sense and thats the first person treat Lily like that. He was trying to read her of course but his elegance and kindness is what makes him beautiful. Thats also why he is special to Lily. She isnt idiot. She heard barrat issues and she doesnt care. Again, she is a girl who knows her priorities. She is fighter who will protect those who precious to her. They still havent learnt this about her yet. That she can handle harsh stuffs. She needs someone who will understand her feelings and support her decisions, and that is Fjord who will akways listen her without making it about how she should feel or do. I know this because thats also my type in real people. I understand why Lily fell for him because he is charming in every way. Even if he lies, he does it to survive and so gentle, so elegant, its beautiful. Thats the 'beauty' Lily saw in him.
People around Lilys are really annoying. They say 'why barrat kid? He doesnt worth it'. Well, you ignorant bunch of idiots. Being Barrat isnt his fault. And you all know very well that he is also victim. Not only y'all are ignorant to his pain, you dont understand why Lily likes him so much. Fjord is literally only person who understand Lily. Because he doesnt treat Lily like she is 'some object that needs to be protected'. He always listens her troubles and he supports her decision to do literally anything. Lily is strong girl. They just dont understand how much mentally strong she is. She is not fragile creature. And she is strong enough to face hardships. Fjord doesnt try to prison her. If she says she wants to see her father, then he will help her. I remember that scene where Fjord was the only one who really listened to her. And dont remind me how literally every single one of them including her mother were very rude to Lily when they first met. Except Fjord who always always treated her with kindness. How could she not like him? He is her treasure. And the way they act like 'he isnt worth it' is soooo annoying. Fortunately, Lily is the kind of protagonist who knows what her priorities is. She loves him and noone can stop her. Thats what i love about her. Fjord is really precious. (His sister too btw). But the other characters are very annoying.
