I read the novel and they really skipped plenty of details of world building that makes up the novel haha, ig it makes sense considering the novel is so SLOWW PACED (its slice of life). I love that they fixed the pace but still, i can't help but feel sad over the details in the novel they talked about how most of those kids are actually orphans, (carnation children, meaning flower childrens) They're orphans who actively seeks out guardianships because 4th class citizens (the poor) has major problems so they mass abandoning of children is common. There was even a saying it's a dumping ground for discarded humans. Those carnation children promotes themselves on the streets to be adopted , this culture happened right after the great catastrophe (Abt 2 generation ago) happened in spring where parents day comes close, (a day where children would give carnation (flower) to their parents ) So abandoned children would get those flowers in honor of their deceased parents but they had no one to give it to ofc ... Sum adults, out of pity, began taking those children holding flowers bit by bit until it became a phenomenon and children who can't even get a flower would make flowers out of tissues or discarded paper hoping adults would pity them enough to take them in. And maybe some families do try to take them in as real family but nowadays it's like hiring children for labors huhu. It's a sad detail, maybe it'd be cover in later chapters? Or they rearranged the pace of it to be revealed idk
