mm i honestly can’t form a solid opinion on this. i’m not even going to talk about the fan service and the artist’s obsession with drawing minor feet.
i initially assumed valerian turned to necromancy because of the death of one of his family members. we have seen his character be built as one who strongly values his family so before it got revealed, i assumed one of the sisters would die. i didn’t expect for him to just go loca and kill his daddy, wtf bro. i honestly would’ve rooted for his villain arc if one of his siblings had died but the man having one nightmare and entering a manic episode which results in him murdering his father and turning everyone in the mansion into a zombie…? yikes. i know i know, the staff probably hypnotized him or something but it’s still pretty stupid. i can predict the conflict will end with a massacre and possibly the youngest daughter (blondie forgot her name) surviving because she wasn’t at the mansion.
moving on, ugh. i understand the title is literally about young ladies but wow, i didn’t expect for our main character to have such a low presence. why is he a side character in his own story? we have more character development towards the noble ladies than we do for our main character. all we know about him is that he’s nonchalant and wants to become a greater magician. we barely got any development during his 1st and 2nd tier levels and even now, we have more screen time of the girls than we do of him. i’ve actually never seen a story like this where the main character is tossed to the side. we barely get to see his character. we got some development when he met that 6-star level mage but then we suddenly switched back to the girls. it’s just a shame because the premise was promising but the execution feels lacking.
