And the way i see it, lily was just as willing to watch them send marion off as well. And marion was willing to lie to save herself for the same reason lily was lying. Instead of viewing the princess as evil and deserving of punishment, i think it’s more important to recognize that a bunch of men were selling off scared girls who just wanted to survive. Marion getting her hair yanked out and wedding disrupted was punishment enough
