I have hopes

I actually like how this is going. The mc is finally taking agency, actually making it worth it suffering through the blatant abuse and depression he suffers. I also like that he didn't just forgive the servants who lied to him. While it is understandable that they did so because they would most likely be killed otherwise, it is also understandable for the mc to lose all trust in them.
Just hope they keep amon as the villain and don't try to redeem him. I can kind of understand that the mc has a complicated relationship with him. The abuse paired with the isolation and amnesia through drugs, while amon is pretty much the center of his universe while also abusing him. It makes sense.
But the writing is too good so far to just redeem that abuser, pretty please.

I wouldn't call it a redemption what they do with Amon's character necessarily, but we do get to understand him more as time goes by. That being said, we shouldn't judge him by human standards, then we'll never get it.
