I still don't know if they want to control them or just wish to support and oversea the start of the new humanity. They want to bring forth a greater specimen of humans, ones that excel in everything, which they make by the combination of powerful people's DNA.
But do they want them in control of themselves or do they want control over them? I don't know.. that part is confusing to me. ╮(￣▽￣)╭
So, they wish to create new humans, a new network of humanity, and the baby was essentially the foundation of it's creation. The reasoning why they chose ML and MC to mix their DNA together is because they're counted as the pinnacle of humanity, they're the masters in every field: politics, economics and so on.
They gave them Beom as a trial for the child, to see if he was able to understand the feeling and experience of emotions, his own and others, to see if he would react to the parental guidance and material instincts of the parents. And articulate those feelings to his own free will, to see if he was able to control the natural emotions that came with the trial of being with his parents.
IPO just wants to create a better humanity that doesn't feel and react on instinct so there won't be wars and negativity in the world, Beom is an experiment they deem successful, hence the reason he's the foundation of the future of 'greater' humans.
So, in conclusion, they want mindless humans that they can control to bring new a better era of humanity. But, I could be wrong.. this plot is mad, man.
