The reason I personally cannot read or watch Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation is mostly because of Rudeus and his actions. What bothers me the most is the fact that he knows what he is doing is wrong, yet he continues to do it anyway. On top of that, I feel like he is constantly rewarded for many of the terrible things he does rather than facing consequences that I personally feel would be appropriate. I would honestly suggest that people read the Light Novels if they want to get the full scope of the story and understand why so many people criticize Rudeus and his behavior. And no, I don't personally believe that his actions should simply be dismissed as comedic or automatically forgiven because he is supposedly a “flawed character” or because the story is about his growth. Rudeus has done some genuinely disturbing and terrible things toward women and young girls, and that is something I simply cannot overlook. I understand that Mushoku Tensei has excellent world-building, an interesting magic system, compelling lore, and beautiful animation, but none of those qualities excuse or erase what Rudeus has done both in his previous life and throughout his reincarnated life. You can enjoy the world-building, magic system, animation, or other characters while still acknowledging that Rudeus' behavior is deeply disturbing and that you personally cannot support or tolerate him as a protagonist. That's ultimately why I can't bring myself to watch or read the series.
