Intended to be yuri-coded

I'm coming back to this manga 10 years later and I have such a different perspective of this series. I was a high school student when I started reading this.

Shoujo manga is known to be kinda trashy sometimes and we can live for the slop, but this was genuinely good. I can't deny that after years and hundred of comics, I still remember this one. I still remember Yuyu. She was so unnatural and didn't make sense but she very much did make sense. After reading comments and doing some digging, the author has some GL/shoujo ai manga she created. It made me realize that their relationship was subtly intended to be more than best friends

I appreciate this story a lot more because this is a perfect manga to read multiple times.
The first time you only see Nana's perspective but the second time, you understand Yuyu more even though she is this stories antagonist. You know how Yuyu thinks and with the knowledge of this being shoujo AI the second round in, your whole view changes. It honestly feels like Fight Club in that sense.

Now with the last chapter, I feel like it really puts it in your face like yes, this was intended to be gay and it can still be interpreted as straight. The story can mean whatever you want depending on how you want to see it. Im glad I read this years ago
