Jung Cheol is so well written

I adore Minyoung but the more I reread the story the more I love the care the author had to depict Cheol

Somehow he has so many flaws and really messed up in his life and yet we really understand where this all come from.
His shortcomings as a person, his tendency to run away and gamble, he is stuck in his childhood mind, he didn't get to have a good upbringing and because of that he couldn't grow up properly as a person. He also could never be a good partner because he never truly loved his wife, he got stuck in the period he lost Minyoung who mattered the most to him and couldn't move on after that

It's also both endearing and frustrating that he can't abandon his trash family and yet it's also realistic, it makes me sad to see him wanting so much to be loved by his father despite the horrible treatment but so many children who experience parental abuse still cling to the hope of being accepted by their parents even though it will never happen all their life

In any other story, we would dislike to see an irresponsible character who gambles and constantly run away at everything and yet the author wrote him so well that even his flaws make me have empathy for him.
Minyoung is his everything and I really hope their story won't end in tragedy
