I’m gonna hold y’all’s hands when I say this…this was the perfect ending for ALL the main characters.
Listen, I love Jo to death. He’s so pretty and such a lover boy. He deserves to be happy. I’m gonna hold y’all’s hands once more when I say this…Jo would never truly be happy w YW(Yeongwoo). Jo was going down a terrible path when he was w YW. If the two of them ended up together, Jo would feel miserable, especially w the fact that YW had SUCH a deep relationship w TJ. When YW was w Jo, his mind kept going back to TJ. It was so bad that Jo noticed as well.
The two of them are from different worlds. Jo is a regular guy. He deserves to live a happy regular life with someone else who’s also regular. He’s not built for the type of baggage YW would bring. They might’ve be happy for a few years, MAYBE, but the weight of all that trauma YW has would bring Jo down. He might end up feeling guilty for having had a good life. To have had good friends and family for all his life.
TJ and YW are perfect for each other. Their past is too tangled up together that I find it impossible that they’d ever separate. They’ve been through it all together. Through thick and thin. They lick each other’s wounds. They get each other in a way that would be impossible for Jo to achieve with YW. I’m not saying TJ’s a good guy. He’s terrible, but so would YW be if he picked Jo. That’s why they’re perfect for each other, bcs they’ve both changed for the worst, but have the possibility of lifting each other up after leaving the gang. They’ll heal and adjust to living a peaceful life together, which would feel suffocating if YW did that all by himself w Jo.
I remember reading this back when it was ongoing. I genuinely couldn’t bring myself to read it, thinking that Jo was endgame. After years later, I stumbled upon someone shit talking this ending, saying that TJ was endgame…and I couldn’t have been more happier for YW, TJ AND Jo. I ran to read this again, and it ironed my resolve.
TJ is a man YW would NEVER forget. There’s just too much love and bitterness that would be left unresolved if he chose Jo. That’s not fair for Jo, he’s just too good. I’m all in for toxic x toxic that has the chance to turn healthy. I would never be happy to give Jo to a man like YW (I’m deadass talking like Jo’s my son bruh)
