I really like this story, in fact, I really like this artist. They really brought some colours in my life. But I don't understand why, not just for this artist btw, but to a lot of stories where suddenly, the supposed clever/sly etc. character had a suddenly dumbed down moments??? Like, this one was glaring for the ML bcs, he, a snake, and a manipulative and sly man, of all things, should recognise when people are lying or doing bad things in general. He's mulling over it, even after seeing the annoying smirks of those two characters and all. Even if he didn't, I still don't understand why instead of questioning why MC was so worked out, he went straight to find ways to comfort him? Isn't the normal reaction to having someone you love so angered to inquire first why? Like, bro, you are not this dumb beforehand this I swear! Then, like it's my imagination, ML spectacularly resume his persona back.
