i can't wrap my head around why they would add in this plot twist. it's genuinely horrific and they're treating it like its just a regular up and down in their cute little romance. so much so that it feels like the entire genre and tone of the manhwa needs a change to address just how crazy this situation is??
hajun's twin brother pretended to be hajun and raped danwoo. after that, danwoo goes home crying to hajun about how he didn't know, takes the blame by saying he slept with someone else instead of getting raped, and says how he can still feel the lingering touches of hajun's twin. meanwhile, i'm sitting here entirely horrified and shocked by this turn of events. it's such a serious situation coming SO out of left field for what was originally just a cute and smutty BL - and having danwoo feel guilty just makes it that much more sad and realistic to an extent!
after this, hajun was genuinely concerned thinking danwoo got taken advantage of. though my expectations for how the situation would be handled were low, i thought that this was a chance for it to be dealt with *SOMEWHAT* seriously. of course, what should i have expected?? as soon as hajun finds out it was his twin brother, he's apologizing for not telling danwoo about his family instead of apologizing for how horrible of an experience that must have been for danwoo. then, after hearing how danwoo still feels dirty because of it, instead of feeling sickened by the situation, hajun gets jealous and wants to fuck the feeling out of danwoo.
...what? i couldn't even read that last sex scene because it was so out of place. Why Would They Do That.
now, to circle back to the title of this topic, their relationship is just... unsalvageable.
i know that this is a lighthearted manhwa in the first place, so not many things are going to be 100% realistic to reality. but when rape is randomly slotted into the story, it's difficult for me to turn my brain off for the rest of the story, no matter how hard i try to:
wouldn't danwoo be left with the trauma of being raped by hajun's twin brother? wouldn't the sight and experience of sleeping with hajun (especially in the same night of the incident, mind you) trigger danwoo to have some sort of trauma response?
when the manhwa was all sunshine and rainbows before this twist, it makes this plot point all the more dark. the overall tone of the story is absolutely not suitable for something as serious as rape, and, even if the authour could manage something, it's already being handled so poorly </3 im good off this shit bruh
