This is gonna be a difficult read for those with strict moral standards, especially since the story contains rape, sexual assault, and other heavy themes. But here’s my take:
It’s a painful yet incredibly well-written story. At times, it felt like I was reading a novel and watching a cinematic movie at the same time. The art, pacing, and storytelling work so well together. It’s genuinely impressive.
The ML and MC have complicated feelings for each other, but what I appreciated most is that they actually know how to communicate. I was amazed by how the author allowed the characters to recognize, confront, and resolve their individual conflicts while also working through their relationship. Their development felt surprisingly thoughtful and rewarding.
That said, this is undeniably a heavy read. There’s a lot of revenge, rape, and emotional trauma throughout the story, and I understand why some readers would find certain aspects difficult or even unacceptable. Personally, I think the story might have been more palatable to a wider audience if the cause of the revenge and the revenge itself had been written differently. The author is clearly talented enough to come up with an equally compelling conflict without relying on such an extreme premise.
Nevertheless, I can’t deny how much I enjoyed the story as a whole. Despite its disturbing themes, the writing, character development, pacing, and artwork were exceptionally good. I could genuinely see myself rereading this masterpiece just to experience the angst all over again and admire the art.
