just bc u get arrested initially doesn't mean ur lawyer can't still get u out or lessen your sentence. even just the fact he apparently has a ton of power and money is a threat. i think they are really just trying to assure he won't be able to do shit anymore. also i'm pretty sure there's not gonna be a wedding. he's just still manipulating the grandpa
