In the phone convo, he asked if she was free and said "Or do you have plans again", insinuating she's turned him down to hang out after work before. She pauses and says no, she'll make time for him prob cause she was doing that lie to get Kihyun out of trouble.
She also probably said it's a good idea to not mention they know each other cause I feel like the Team Leader Guy would bug out about it (he already asked Kihyun if they knew each other and seemed off-put by how handsome he is)!
