I think… I think that scene wasn’t just thrown in there as fetish material, which is honestly great. A lot of authors will insert that kind of shit just because, without it really serving any purpose.
Here, though, it seems pretty clear that the author is showing us another side of Jaeyi. They want to make sure we don’t put him on a pedestal and see him as this perfect green flag. He’s capable of losing control, being an asshole, and thinking with his dick instead of his head.
The character even acknowledged it himself. He knows what he did was wrong, and he was actively trying to control himself before eventually slipping. I also think the scene was meant to show his potential to become obsessive and controlling. He specifically pointed out that MC’s skin was no longer covered in him, and that seemed to trigger something in him. I wouldn’t be surprised if, after this scene, he starts covering Ideum again despite previously telling himself he shouldn’t.
He also keeps unintentionally bringing up that their relationship feel like it revolves around sex, and we’re seeing how much that affects Ideum. I’m starting to think the “regret” tag might actually be connected to this. The brother could swoop in and make Ideum believe that he genuinely wants a real romantic relationship with him, and that, Jaeyi doesn't... leading to Jaeyi potentially losing Ideum.
