I’ve stumbled upon some HORRIFIC reads when it comes to toxic and abusive. Like FAR worse than Roses and Champagne, for example, which is WORLDS WORSE than Jinx.
Jinx sucks, but it didn’t even shock me much in terms of toxicity level. The author’s other work is just as toxic (maybe a LITTLE less). But idk why Jinx is the toxic example people rip on when semes like Caesar and Zhenya fucking exist
Yeah I think it’s because of who the author is. Since they made one of the staple Bls there was higher expectations and it was more popular.
I think they say that when they compare to “normal” red flags iykwim. There are diff genres to red/black flags. U can’t compare semes like the guys from No Reason, Reverse Thinking, Killing Stalking, etc to regular red/black flags.
Its the new gen whose first bl was Jinx makes it a big deal honestly. And u know they are knew cos they are soo offended by jinx. Jinx isnt even that bad, the art is amazing the plot is meh, theres a good storytelling in there somewhere (meaning theres proper start climax resolution etc) its those readers that makes so much noise and makes it bigger than it is. I honestly feel like side eyeing people who says that. “Is this another jinx” girl u better wish its another jinx and be grateful. Imagine if veterans say “is this another killing stalking”

The uproar is very intentional; the authors use ragebait as a form of marketing in so many of these stories. And people are mad because it's working. I, too don't think that jinx is the worst one out there, but people are reacting to it exactly the way they're supposed to be.

maybe it’s like good people haven’t seen the worst shit but i’ve read so many bl’s that are just far more terrifying and toxic and abusive
