me and my boyfriend are both bi, i’ve dated plenty of girls (i’m a chic lmfao) and he’s dated only girls. i read exclusively BL and he doesn’t really care lmfao. and i read a lot of it #-.-). a lot of my close friends think it’s a bit weird and i understand them because some of the stories i read are just dudes fucking one of my closest friends judges me HARDDDD but he’s still chill with me and stuff. my boyfriend finds it “interesting” that i just consume bl, sometimes i suffer with gender dysphoria and shit and i wish i could be a dude so me and him discuss reasons like “hmm i wonder why ur so into bl ?” but overall he doesn’t really care/is chill with it. it’s not my identity and it doesn’t really speak on any of my qualities as a person yk ? i use the same criteria on whether ill associate with a person or not but honestly just find someone who likes you for you. it’s great and honestly crucial that their beliefs and values align with yours. overall if you hit it off with a person and you guys are together and it’s great that’s all that matters, and the media you consume as long as it doesn’t consume you shouldn’t affect the relationship. they should accept you for everything. and it ABSOLUTELY DOES MATTER. i don’t think you can consider yourself a true ally if you’re dating someone who’s beliefs are harmful to the community yk ? also my bl consumption happened later on in our relationship, we’ve been together for 2 years and 8 months and my bl consumption happened at around 2 years and 5 months lmao
hello! i am a straight person(i read a lot of bl though) and my bf is straight too. he knows i read BL because i sometimes tell him abt some interesting or just really funny things I've read on a BL story and doesn't really have a strong opinion abt it. i can say that he is not homophobic (although he did confess that when he was a kid he was homophobic due to the influence of his brothers, but he ultimately changed). even if he can be lacking when it comes to his views and stances on certain things, he is not egoistic nor prideful and he is very willing to listen to what i have to say on things and even even ask questions to understand why I think like so. and no,YOU ARE NOT WRONG for thinking that you need to know a person on a deeper level before you let them in your life. How they, think, what their beliefs and principles are, and how they treat people ultimately shows what kind of person they are and it is even more crucial to know if you are planning on spending the rest of your life with them.

Okay girlies, or any guys (which is extremely rare ) yaoi readers and those who consume queer media in general ...are any of you committed?? And if so what's your partner's reaction to it ?? Are they chill with it or are they like "you do whatever the fuck you want don't involve me" type, or do they try to involve themselves in what you like and gave it a try ?? or are they straight homophobic?? Also when you choose someone to date does it matter ???
For me I'm 22 , never dated , and all the guys near me are lowkey homophobic , and I'm ally ofc in real life too... and the criteria I use to judge a person is how they treat other people than me , what are their opinion on feminism , their choices in art , literature ,music , movies , their political stance , their philosophy in life and if they are support LGBTQIA community or not...
So if anyone who is in a relationship please guide me is it wrong that I think like that ??
