Sure it's the author's fault but Lancelot isn't really a likable character even in the beginning of the show. Along with Guin's annoying introduction and bland character there's really nothing to root for. Lancelot and Guin are always the focus too so you'll be seeing them all the time and feel odd why she looks like that even though she ain't a fairy. It's not like age gap was the only issue rinse and repeat falls in love with some girl you barely know like ban +loli ass body (⌒▽⌒)
