My hatred for reverse thinking only grows by day. I hate it's pretentious fandom that likes pretending to believe the story has anything to say about the cycle of violence or the morality of revenge, the author used these themes so lightly they barely exist within the story, the whole backstory of rape is just a excuse for the rape porn the story actually is "ooh actually he totally deserves it because uuuh the back story i pulled out of my ass!"
And people can write good stories were a character is tortured due to their past actions one of the best examples of this is Theon Greyjoy from a song of ice and fire. But the difference is that Theon torture is meant to make you question if he deserves everything he goes through despite what he did, the point is theres no actual justice for what he did, it's meant to make you question punitive justice because even though he is tortured none of the people he has hurt are actually getting any care.
The ml in reverse thinking doesn't rape the mc because the mc harmed him he does it because he himself is a rapist ┑(￣Д ￣)┍
