Honestly bcs it’s all in the pov of our mc and he like has feelings but thinks that the ml has none, it’s an unreliable narrator. So im pretty sure they both fell in love at first sight, but the mc’s actions confuse ml and cause him to misunderstand. But they still take care of eavhtoher. Like the empty gym was probably the ml’s doing, and mc trying to help ml by taking down yoshim in two years. This may not make sense but there is Sooo much chemistry between them mc just dumb
