Asel is a 21 year old orphan, who’s had no family to support him, didn’t get a proper education, was thrown into the host club world, “rescued” by a rich guy, given a much easier and well paid job, got caught up in rut cycle, ended up pregnant, and rushed into marriage with a man from a world light years different from his own upbringing. It can takes years to recover and learn to adjust to life after just one major event let alone several huge life milestones happening in less than a year. I’m of the mind to give this character a bit more grace. Jinhyeok strikes me as someone who’s been living on chaebol heir autopilot his whole life and is being rocked by this unexpected, naive, and wholesome boy. It’s no wonder these two are so emotionally constipated.
