French black kid here. I feel like stabbing is more of a french thing than it is a black thing. If the author really wanted to use racist stereotypes then she would've been caught cheating instead or she would've used a firearm or done some other crazy shit that we get usually get blamed for :/ (I could obviously be wrong though)

french and using knives are a real thing lol as someone who is half. but its more like, the first time implementing a darker skinned character into your story and thought “oh, she must be violent and pull out a knife” if being french was the focus, then fine, story’s have alluded to the look/color of a past love interest without emphasis on appearance. its the intentional idea that a dark skinned person is equivalent to being violent, whether shes french or not. ur comment is funny tho… cheating being a black thing instead of everyone being a cheater is… odd lol. either way it is what it is.
