The guy has a poison ability but it's too strong, to all consuming. His blood, his breath, possibly even his sweat, are all poisonous as a result. He hasn't clued in the body in the dungeon he's possessing doesn't have that issue so the concern is legitimate.
That and he doesn't believe CEJ's claim to be immune because he was severely hurt by it before, to an extent that shocked the both of them. Most system-based immunities act as a shield, always there, effective from day 1. CEJ's is more like a vaccine, deal with it once and be protected from then on. But he hasn't clearly communicated that. Not that LSY is likely to listen.
