Shouldn’t the discovery of a genius who can break the “unbreakable” be more than worth the cost of the rock itself? Unless they’re saying that the crystal is one of a kind and impossible to replace, surely knowing that Weiss or Lily is a talented mage beyond compare is more useful than a target kids throw magic at.
Anyways I just don’t get why they have to pay back money when frankly they should be rewarded so that they’ll want to stay.
