I get Riftans intentions, but intention or not, he essentially is keeping her prisoner but in a fancier cage. Like it’s one cage to another.
He’s been deciding everything in their relationship without discussion and rarely asks or considers her input. Now that she’s done the same, he’s mad. I understand his intention and want for her safety and lavish lifestyle, but decisions require two-way communication. It’s not right to only have one person make the decision for the relationship. He knows how it feels and still doesnt seem to get that he does the same thing to her.
Maxi doesnt care for lavish or the princess treatment, she wants more in life especially after being locked up. She wants to help. It’s really sad that he doesn’t see that or realize he’s hindering her growth. He needs to learn to surrender, trust her with her decision (cuz she is an adult), and have faith that she can do things. Just as he expects her to listen and follow him, he needs to do the same. Poor things, they’ll get there eventually (hopefully).
