i mean to be fair, the novel didn’t exactly described a mucleman with godly upper body and centipede lower body in my head i was imagining a zombie looking upper body because the novel make it such a big deal and important detail that he is a glutton six pack was the last thing on my mind. so yea compared to what i imagined this is definitely less grotesque

This is the novel excerpt. There's always been a human torso at the top. This is pretty much exactly how I imagined it, not sure why people are so surprised.
i understand, it’s probably just personal perspective but from my perspective, typical human torso does not equal to gym bod so that’s why i am surprised. with contextual clues given about how they describe the creature’s never ending appetite and how it lives in a cave near a swamp, it’s pretty normal for me to assume it’s gonne be a body horror monster instead of a hot man’s upper body
