The way he came across may have seemed American, but the kissing was definitely more Spanish/French/Latin American. Neither British nor Americans kiss as a greeting
I was trying to think which European countries did the whole kiss greeting, and couldn’t remember.
Definitely not much of an American thing, unless you come from a cultural background that does, and even then it varies.
I think his over-the-top attitude screamed stereotypical American, and of course him being blonde screams stereotypical European (or American) character.
I know it’s always a stereotype that foreigners are very touchy-feely, but honestly that varies a lot in reality, and I’m not sure English people are known for being overly physical.
The way he came across in this first chapter made me think of the stereotypical American character, actually.
