I read the whole novel. It is really quite long. I think this is only 1/3 of it. He'll get really better. You'll understand him more once you read his point of view, but that doesn't excuse his behavior currently.
However, his actions now and his character development later makes him a good character.
The novel is one of my best reads and basically introduced me to this world of manhuas.
